Our story
From one van to a full-service contractor
Volt Shield started in 2009 with a single engineer, a Transit van, and a straightforward promise: do the job properly, every time. Our founder had spent over a decade working for national contractors and seen first-hand how corners got cut when no one was watching.
We built the business differently — hiring only qualified, time-served engineers, investing in the latest equipment, and refusing to take on more work than we could deliver to the standard our clients deserved.
Today, Volt Shield operates across the North East, West & Yorkshire with a team of 30+ engineers covering electrical installations, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control, and 24/7 monitored security. The promise hasn't changed.

Electrical installationsThe UK's leading electrical certification body. Our NSI Gold approval means every electrical installation we carry out is independently assessed and certified to BS 7671 wiring regulations.
NSI Gold — Intruder Alarms
Intruder alarm systemsNSI Gold is the highest tier of certification for security system installers. Our alarm installations meet PD 6662 and BS EN 50131 standards, making them eligible for police response.
NSI Gold — CCTV
CCTV & video surveillanceOur CCTV installations are certified under NSI's NACOSS Gold scheme, ensuring systems are designed, installed, and maintained to BS EN 62676 and GDPR requirements.
